SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Three mechanisms. One protocol. A measurable physiological response.

Vasper combines blood flow restriction, active cooling, and a calibrated interval protocol into a single 21-minute session - engineered to trigger the hormonal cascade of heavy resistance training at a fraction of the mechanical cost.

The technology isn't new. Each component - BFR, HIIT, active cooling - has decades of published research behind it. What's new is the integration: a single system that delivers all three simultaneously, in a session short enough to fit into any training week, with zero joint load.

THE THREE MECHANISMS

What each component does. What the combination does that none of them can alone.

Blood Flow Restriction

Liquid-chilled cuffs apply calibrated pressure to the quads and biceps, partially restricting venous return. Lactate concentrates rapidly. The body responds by recruiting fast and super-fast twitch muscle fibers -- and by triggering growth hormone and testosterone release within minutes.

Calibrated Interval Protocol

A 21-minute interval session on a zero-impact recumbent unit -- typically a 5-to-9-minute warm-up followed by sprint intervals, calibrated to the user's physiology in real time. Engineered to produce a maximum anabolic response in a minimum window.

Built on decades of high-intensity interval training research

Active Cooling

Chilled coolant circulates through the cuffs, the seat, and the foot pads -- actively pulling heat from the working muscle. Core temperature stays regulated, blood stays in the working muscle, and the body finishes more powerful, not more depleted.

Cooling protocol developed in collaboration with NASA's Ames Research Center

WHY THE COMBINATION

The integration is the innovation.

Each of these three mechanisms produces a measurable physiological response on its own. The integration produces something different: a single session that simultaneously concentrates lactate, regulates core temperature, and drives a maximum anabolic signal -- in a time window short enough to use between hard training days without taxing recovery.

In practice, that means three measurable shifts during and after a 21-minute session:

HORMONAL

Growth hormone and testosterone rise within 7--10 minutes. Cortisol drops. The same anabolic cascade as heavy resistance training, without the mechanical load.

CARDIOVASCULAR

Heart rate elevates rapidly under BFR load, then recovers faster than conventional interval training thanks to regulated core temperature.

NEUROMUSCULAR

Recruitment of fast and super-fast twitch muscle fibers -- the fibers most responsible for power output and most prone to atrophy with age.

RESEARCH LIBRARY

The evidence base.

Vasper has been studied across populations as diverse as TBI patients, U.S. military veterans, Type II diabetics, professional athletes, and adults over 60. The three studies highlighted below represent the strongest evidence at the intersection of methodology and clinical relevance. Additional studies -- including internal and field-conducted research -- are catalogued in the full library.

Vasper Produces More Stable TBI Recovery Than Conventional Exercise Alone

25 adults with persistent post-concussive symptoms (randomized controlled trial)

Adults experiencing unresolved concussion symptoms for up to one year received either standard aerobic exercise or the same protocol using Vasper. The Vasper group demonstrated significantly less symptom fluctuation, with improvements in cognitive and sleep recovery stability compared to controls.

Key Results

  • Reduced symptom severity fluctuation during treatment (p = 0.03)
  • Improved cognitive and mood stability vs. control (p = 0.02 each)
  • Sleep and cognitive stability sustained at 6-week follow-up (p = 0.007 & 0.02)

71% of Veterans Improved Sleep Quality. 100% of Those with Clinical Sleep Disorders Improved.

14 U.S. veterans over 24 sessions across 12 weeks

Veterans completed a 12-week protocol with assessments using clinically validated measures for sleep, quality of life, and respiratory symptoms. Results were particularly striking among more impaired veterans.

Key Results

  • 71% improved sleep quality (p = 0.02)
  • 100% with clinically disturbed sleep improved
  • Statistically significant gains in emotional wellbeing, energy, social function, and general health

8% Drop in Blood Sugar in 3 Months - Comparable to Pharmaceutical Intervention

16 Type II Diabetics across 3 sessions/week for 3 months

For patients unable to exercise intensively due to obesity, arthritis, or hypertension, the low-burden protocol produced clinically meaningful blood sugar improvements matching pharmaceutical benchmarks.

Key Results

  • HbA1c decreased 8% on average (8.5 to 7.8 mg/dL, p = 0.002)
  • Average weight loss of 3.6 lbs (p = 0.032)
  • Achieved in patients with comorbidities preventing conventional exercise
